Disney's Art of Animation

Staying on property at Walt Disney World can get very expensive and isn't in the budget for most that have to travel there. However, the value resorts are a great option if you want the magical quality of a Disney resort. There are options for the whole family in the suites or two-bed rooms for a getaway.

I had the opportunity to stay at Disney's Art of Animation and experience the resort for a week in the Little Mermaid room. Before the visit, a treat was sent. There was a little package with luggage tags and free visits for mini golf and the ESPN World of Sports. I loved the personal touch to build up excitement for the trip.

The room was really sweet and decorated really well. There were shells as a mirror frame and the TV stand looked like a chest from the movie. The bathroom was darker with tiling and a shower curtain that was made to look like you were under the sea. The layout of the room is very standard to any that you would find at a hotel. I will say that the quality of the rooms is not outstanding, but I will tell you about the rest of the resort.

Check-in was stunning! The resort's lighted wall of many colors was my favorite feature every time I passed it. It is definitely a show stopper when you arrive for your stay.

Little Mermaid's pool and the section where I stayed was too cute! There is a laundry building by each of the three pool's at the resort. Themed objects along the path were a really nice touch to feel like you're in the movie. Ursula, Ariel, and King Triton are the three centers of the separate buildings and a great photo spot at the resort.

The Cozy Cone was my absolute favorite part of the resort. Everything about Radiator Springs coming to life was magical. Disney did an amazing job recreating the moving parts of the film. From the cars with headlights to the cozy cone cabanas and the Wheel Well Hotel, it was perfect. I spent most of my time at the resort by the pool in the "Cars" section.

At night it was even better because of the neon lights and headlights shining.

The Big Blue Pool is the biggest pool out of all the Disney resorts and they hold so many fun activities for young children in the afternoon. You can even partake in the fun by playing trivia to win prizes.

Last, but certainly not least, is the Movies Under the Stars that some of the resorts partake in. You can find the schedule at the front desk when you check in and take an evening of your choice to sit out by the pool and watch a Disney Classic. This is my favorite way to rest and get back to the resort for an early night.

Have you ever stayed at a Disney Resort?

Which one is your favorite?
