Savannah GA Travel Guide

This is an all-in-one guide to Savannah, GA that will include multiple locations that are a MUST SEE, a rating out of 5, and my thoughts.

I am so excited to be able to share this travel guide with you all! I've never done a post like this, but traveling is one of my favorite things to do. I hope to do more of these guides throughout the year for those of you that love travel inspo.

The three full days that I spent in Savannah were jam-packed with exploring, eating, and having a good time. Part 2 will be coming soon, where I share all of the best places to eat at while in Savannah. For now... here's all the attractions you should check out ♡

Rainbow Row - 508 E Bryan St ★★★★☆

Such a cute place to go and see some historic homes of Savannah. This is basically just a row of 3 homes (that you can actually rent!) with brightly colored shutters that are soooo pretty for a photo or an Instagram. There's really not much else to it, but it is lovely 🌈

Forsyth Park  ★★★★★

It's literally stunning. The 150 year old fountain that stands near the center of the park is the main attraction. Loads of people stop to take pictures or sit on the nearby benches to enjoy its beauty. There's also two very nice playgrounds and a water feature where children can play.

The Southern Live Oak trees spread all throughout Savannah capture your attention. There are so many that line the paths of Forsyth Park and give it a magical feel. One in particular located a little ways off the path across from 703 Whitaker St., is just incredible. The curve of one of the branches is the perfect place for a picture. It was probably one of my favorite experiences on the trip.

Tybee Island  ★★★★★

About a 30 minute drive from the heart of the historical district, Tybee is a must-see place for all beach lovers and first time beach vacationers. Having not been to a beach in several years I couldn't have had a better time. I would recommend going at around 10 in the morning when the afternoon crowds haven't made it to the beach yet. The heat is also a lot more bearable, although it wasn't terrible at all since the wind is a lot stronger on the coast. Thankfully, that also meant the rain stayed away and I was able to enjoy the beach for a good 3 hours.

I will say that besides the beach and a couple of places to eat, there's not much else to do on the island. There are, however, quite a few places to visit on the way down including Fort Pulaski, Tybee Island Light Station, Old Fort Jackson, and Oatland Island Wildlife Center.

The Olde Pink House ★★★★☆

Just another one of Savannah's many spots for pictures. I didn't eat here only because I felt like the prices were a bit high for the type of food. However, I did go by and take some pictures. The mansion was built in 1771 and is said to be haunted. It's a high-end southern restaurant as well as a hotel. If you are interested in eating at the restaurant you'll have to make reservations on their website ahead of time.

Savannah Botanical Garden ★★★☆☆

Even though I've only given this particular attraction 3 stars, I still think it's a great place to visit. There's a lot of history associated with the home that's on the grounds of the garden. It's actually one of two house left in Savannah that is two stories tall. If you're into the historical aspect of Savannah and feel like seeing something that's kind of off the map I highly recommend you check this place out. The garden is on the smaller side, but it's still beautiful. Admission is free and all of the people that maintain the home are volunteers. I would suggest that you leave a donation in the box on your way out, if you visit.

River Street ★★★☆☆

Probably the most tourist-y spot in Savannah, but it's still a nice place to go. River Street is exactly as it sounds, a long strip along the river. There are loads of souvenir shops and some local places/antique stores on the upper level. If you don't go for the shopping you should definitely go for the views.

Bonus/Other Places

Just a few of the interesting parts of Savannah that you might also want to check out.

- All the squares! There are so many that you're bound to stumble across a handful on your trip. They're really beautiful, so don't miss out on a chance to have a little walk through them.

- SCAD Magnolia Hall is just a beautiful building. It's on Whitaker Street, so grab a picture there on your way to Forsyth Park.

- W Bluff Dr. is a little ways away from the historical district, but it's worth the drive. The street is right on the river and is a residential area with several historic homes that you don't want to miss.

There's all of my recommendations for you!!! Stay tuned for part 2 coming later this week! I loved staying in Savannah and I can't wait to share more with you. Have you ever been? What was your favorite place that you visited?
